Understanding COE for commercial vehicles
The Certificate of Entitlement (COE) is a key component of the cost of owning a new vehicle in Singapore. Buyers must successfully bid for a COE, which grants the right to own and use a vehicle for 10 years.
Goods vehicles and buses bid in Category C, which is separate from the Category A and B premiums that apply to passenger cars. Because commercial vehicle prices are commonly advertised before COE, the final cost depends on the premium at the bidding exercise your vehicle is registered under.
COE prices are determined through Singapore's open bidding system and can fluctuate between bidding exercises depending on demand and supply. As a result, the final price of an electric commercial vehicle can change even when the vehicle's basic price remains unchanged.
The “Est. Price Including COE” column adds the Category C premium shown above to each vehicle's pre-COE price. It is an estimate for comparison only and excludes registration fees, road tax, insurance, body or conversion costs and other charges that vary by vehicle and use case.
